Emmanuel Nassar (b. 1949) is a Brazilian visual artist known for blending popular culture with modernist abstraction. Born in Capanema, Pará, he studied architecture at the Federal University of Pará and later taught art there. His work often incorporates vibrant colors and geometric forms, drawing inspiration from local signage, street art, and everyday objects. Notable works include Recepcôr (1981), a functional sculpture resembling a communication device, and Lataria Espacial (2022), an installation featuring a makeshift airplane constructed from painted metal sheets. Nassar has exhibited internationally, including at the São Paulo Biennial and the Venice Biennale, and his art is part of major collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo.
