Over two decades, SP-Arte has become Brazil’s premier art fair, significantly contributing to the growth and professionalism of the country’s art market. The international recognition of Brazilian art also gained prominence with the curatorship of Adriano Pedrosa at the Venice Biennale, giving visibility to modernist artists.
The 2024 edition attracted a younger audience and saw an increase in transactions, as well as millionaire sales in secondary market galleries. Thanks to generous collector’s incentive, over the last decade, more than 170 works were donated to institutions such as the Pinacoteca, MASP and the National Museum of Fine Arts, including artworks from Rubem Valentim and Ana Maria Maiolino.
With a focus on the future, SP-Arte reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the market, creating opportunities for artists and galleries. The fair positions itself as a catalyst for the Brazilian art ecosystem, connecting national production to the global scene, and points to a promising future with greater international recognition.
