Jacqueline Maria Carvalho Belotti was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and lives and works between Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and London. A visual artist, researcher, and PhD in Visual Arts, she develops a transdisciplinary practice spanning ceramics, porcelain, photography, video, installation, objects, and experimental processes.
Her work explores juxtapositions between geometric form, color, materiality, and narrative, investigating cultural intersections between East and West, fantasy and reality, fiction and history. Through compositions that combine formal rigor, critical imagination, and material experimentation, Belotti creates works that revisit economic flows, colonial processes, cultural memory, and the ways official history is constructed and reimagined.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Brazil, Portugal, and London, including E de Todas as Coisas Um at Galeria Mercedes Viegas, Rio de Janeiro; Viagens Imóveis at Marquise da Funarte, Brasília; and projects at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim, Rio de Janeiro. She received the Funarte Contemporary Art Award in 2014.
To date, no reliable public sources have been identified confirming the presence of her works in permanent museum collections.
