Lívia Moura was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1986, and lives and works in Brazil. A Brazilian visual artist, she has developed a practice spanning painting, installation, textile experimentation, and collaborative processes, exploring the relationships between body, territory, nature, spirituality, material memory, and ways of being. With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from UERJ and a master’s degree in Contemporary Artistic Processes from UFF, Moura uses natural pigments, wool, embroidery, pirarucu fish leather, mica, and organic materials to create works with a strong sensory dimension, in which gesture, matter, and landscape become sites of poetic and political transformation. Her work brings together expanded painting, care, ecology, femininity, and earth-centered cosmologies, proposing immersive environments that challenge the boundaries between artwork, space, and collective experience.
She has participated in exhibitions and projects in Brazil and abroad, including ROCADA: eclosão de desejos da Terra at Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro; Eclosão de Desejos at Casa Seva in São Paulo, with Galeria Inox; and Potentia Mater — derivas geo-gráficas at Galeria Inox. Her activities also include presentations at MAC Niterói and CCBB, experiences in Mexico, Italy, and Thailand, and participation in art fairs such as SP-Arte and ArtRio. To date, no reliable public sources have been found confirming the presence of Lívia Moura’s works in permanent museum collections.
