In 1978, Claudia Moreira Salles graduated from the Design course at the Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial (Esdi), an institution that is part of the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She began her working life at the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio (MAM Rio) in the Industrial Design Institute. In the 1980s, she left Rio de Janeiro to live in São Paulo, where she began to develop handcrafted and semi-handcrafted furniture, always using wood. She has made contributions in various fields such as furniture, accessories, and lamps, and is represented by Espasso in New York.
