Brazilian artist Carlos Vergara’s career focuses mainly on painting, architecture and photography, but during the 70’s he also experimented with cinema.
Initially he dedicated himself to jewellery handicrafts, with which he took part for the first time in the São Paulo Biennial (1963). From 1964 onwards, he devoted himself to drawing and painting under the guidance of Iberê Camargo. He was an active participant in the avant-garde of the 60s and 70s. Among other prizes, he was awarded a jury exemption certificate in 1966 at the Salão Nacional de Arte Moderna and an acquisition certificate at the 1967 São Paulo Biennial.
