Julia Isidrez is a Paraguayan artist known for her sculptural work in clay. She was born in Itá, Paraguay, in 1967, in a city recognized for ancestral ceramic traditions linked to Guarani culture. Daughter of ceramist Juana Marta Rodas, she learned traditional modeling and firing techniques within her family. Her work transforms ceramics from a utilitarian practice into a symbolic and expressive language. Through animal figures, hybrid forms, irregular volumes and organic textures, Isidrez combines popular heritage, imagination and sculptural experimentation. She collaborates with her family and community at Casa Museo Arte en Barro: Julia Isidrez e Juana Marta Rodas, preserving local ceramic memory while expanding the place of Latin American folk ceramics within contemporary art.
