About the artist

Letícia Lopes was born in Campo Bom, Brazil, in 1988, and lives and works in Brazil. A Brazilian visual artist, she has developed a practice focused primarily on painting and drawing, exploring the image as a field of tension between memory, matter, imagination, and perception. Her works bring together figuration and abstraction through dense atmospheres, subtle chromatic structures, and compositions marked by ambiguous temporalities, in which organic forms, ghostly presences, and indeterminate spaces suggest states of transition, silence, and transformation.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from UFRGS, and her work has been presented in exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, including Presença sinistra, a solo exhibition accompanied by a text by Marcelo Campos; Lúgubre Celestial, with Gabriel Almeida, at Arrecife Galeria in Rio de Janeiro; art fairs such as SP-Arte with Verve Galeria; and the 14th Mercosur Biennial in Porto Alegre. To date, no reliable public sources have been found confirming the presence of Letícia Lopes’s works in permanent museum collections.
