Artur Lescher, a leading figure in Brazilian contemporary art, is renowned for his three-dimensional works that transcend traditional sculpture. His art explores the interplay of material, form, and concept, blending installation and object art to redefine spatial understanding. Titles like “Rio Máquina,” “Metamérico,” and “Inabsência” hint at narratives that provoke thought and imagination. Lescher gained national acclaim at the 19th São Paulo Biennial in 1987 with “Aerólitos,” a work juxtaposing solid geometric structures with ephemeral materials like water and salt, evoking a sense of imminent transformation and dynamic tension.

His works are in important collections such as: Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), Buenos Aires, Argentina; Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH), Houston, United States; Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, United States; Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil.
