Graduating in Visual Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado – FAAP in 2009 and Faculdade Paulista de Artes – FPA in 2010, Guga Szabzon furthered her artistic exploration through the Brasil goes Berlin residency program in 2010, funded by the German government.

She initiated her artistic journey by delving into the creation of abstract compositions using felt as a canvas, blending sewing techniques with a focus on the material’s expressive qualities. Associated with her exploration of the dialogue between technique and gesture, the spontaneity of her lines responds dynamically to the machine’s speed. In her recent multidimensional works, she fervently traces the surfaces of felt, resulting in vibrant compositions of colors and movements reminiscent of landscapes, maps, and cartographic studies.

She has exhibited her work in various shows, including Projeto Tripé at Sesc Pompeia in 2009, Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP) in 2012, and A Vastidão dos mapas at the Palacete das Artes in Salvador in 2018. In 2019, her art became a permanent part of the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) collection.
