Zanini de Zanine honed his skills during an internship with the architect and designer Sergio Rodrigues, where he crafted his initial piece of furniture. In 2002, he completed his studies in Industrial Design, followed by a master’s degree in the same field at PUC-Rio. Beginning in 2003, Zanini embarked on the creation of furniture fashioned from solid wood, utilizing reclaimed materials like columns, beams, and posts from old houses. This innovative approach, which he aptly termed “Contemporary Carpentry,” marked a significant phase in his career.
In 2005, Zanini initiated a new trajectory in industrial production, incorporating wood from sustainable sources, plastics, methacrylate, metals, and components from other industrialized products. His ventures expanded with the establishment of two companies: Doiz Design in 2009 and later Punch Design, along with Studio Zanini in 2011. The artist is actively involved in the restoration of the historic Cine Palácio in Cinelândia, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, set to reopen for the 2016 Olympics. In 2015, he presented an exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum of São Paulo (MUBA), a gallery within the Fine Arts Design Center.
