About the artist

Kássia Borges Karajá (Goiânia, 1962) is a visual artist, researcher, teacher, and curator. She lives and works in Uberlândia (MG), developing a body of work that dialogues with ancestry and issues related to the female universe. Inspired by the Karajá ceramic tradition, she uses clay as the main medium in her contemporary creations. In addition to her individual research, she is a member of the MAHKU collective (Movement of Huni Kuin Artists), which gained international recognition by participating in the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024.
