Inspired by Liverpool’s unique geography and the beliefs that underpin the city’s social foundations, the theme literally refers to the sandstone that runs through the region and influences the local architecture. However, the idea of “bedrock” goes further, also representing the people, places and values that form the (metaphorical) foundation of the city. Over 14 weeks, a dynamic program will be presented, with exhibitions, performances, screenings, community and educational activities, in different locations across Liverpool, contributing to the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
