Sofia Borges

Sofia Borges is a conceptual artist who, for the last fifteen years, has been using photography to investigate philosophical notions about the relationship between matter, image and meaning. In the first seven years of her career, Borges developed a wide-ranging and striking body of work exploring photography and the expanded philosophical understanding of images.

From this, over the last five years, she has begun to produce intricate installations and practices that exercise the idea of a total work of art, through complex curatorial projects and performances. More recently, she has incorporated assemblage, sculpture and painting into her research into the nature of images.

Caio Marcolini

Caio Marcolini is an artist with a degree in Industrial Design (UFRJ, 2012) and Jewelry (SENAI, 2007), as well as an academic career at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts, where he was mentored by artists and curators such as Bruno Miguel, Anna Bella Geiger, Fernando Cocchiarale and Franz Manata. His artistic practice fuses jewelry, art and design, blurring the boundaries between these disciplines.

Exploring the material and the ethereal, Marcolini has developed his own braiding process, which reflects his ongoing research into form and movement. His creations evolve organically, shaping themselves like flexible threads that transform as they are made, translating the dynamic between idea and materialization.

Camilla D’Anunziata

Camila’s artistic practice explores the symbolic universe as a portal to consciousness and spirituality. Through a multifaceted visual language, the artist connects the visible to the invisible, the rational to the intuitive, creating works that reflect the intersection between the material and the spiritual.

Inspired by references such as alchemy, mythology, quantum physics and psychology, her creations invite reflection and the expansion of perception. Using various techniques and materials, she develops sensory experiences that evoke emotion and intuition, interweaving past, present and future in a symbolic universe.

Rodrigo Almeida

Rodrigo Almeida’s work finds its roots in a multiple ancestry, where Afro, indigenous and Portuguese legacies are inextricably interwoven. This heritage is not only a starting point, but also a declaration of identity that permeates his entire artistic practice, flowing both consciously and unconsciously in his production.

These atavistic references manifest themselves in layers, as sensory and affective memories that meet, overlap and shape the forms and meanings of his work, exploring the intimate, collective and political human dimensions, creating a dialog between the individual, society and the spaces they share.

Talitha Rossi

A visual artist, she explores eco-feminism, body modification, new media and human relations. She works with textile sculptures, performances, videoperformances, poetic embroidery and adornments, connecting the visible body to invisible forces.

Between skins and threads, she performs rites that denounce the exploitation of nature and women, combining the feminist struggle with the call for sustainability. Inspired by orixality and ancestry, her works confront the docilization of female bodies, challenging patriarchy and calling for collective insubmission.

Fernando de La Rocque

Fernando de La Rocque is a visual artist whose practice combines manual skills in traditional techniques such as painting, sculpture and embroidery, with original approaches such as painting with cannabis smoke. Since entering the contemporary art circuit at the end of the 20th century, he has used his work as a poetic exercise to confront values and give new meaning to the “forbidden”.

De La Rocque explores controversial themes in works organized in series that straddle the boundary between “acceptable” and “unacceptable”, without abandoning the camouflage of the beautiful and the attractive, challenging the public to re-evaluate prejudices and taboos

Katharina Welper

The work of Rio de Janeiro artist Katharina Welper is linked to an almost obsessive craft, which sees memory as a defining locus for the development of her poetics. Another decisive factor in her production is its multifaceted and hybrid nature, as she moves fluidly between various genres, such as painting, drawing, collage, performance, textile art and three-dimensional works.

And if we can identify a common element in this transit between genres, this thread can be highlighted, transmuting into multiple forms between abundance and concision, deconstruction and creation, rupture and continuity, for example.
