Saldanha began her studies in Rio de Janeiro, in the studio of the painter Pedro Luiz Correia de Araújo (1874 - 1955), in 1948. Initially, he produced figurative works, such as everyday scenes and portraits, and paintings of houses, in which he emphasized geometry.
