Thiago Rocha Pitta (b. 1980) is a Brazilian contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice—encompassing video, watercolor, fresco, sculpture, and installation—explores the poetic and temporal dimensions of nature. Born in Tiradentes, Minas Gerais, and currently based in São Paulo, Rocha Pitta began his career with outdoor interventions in 2001, often treating natural elements as collaborators in his work. His art captures subtle transformations in the environment, such as erosion, fog, and underwater shifts, inviting viewers into contemplative experiences of time and change.
Rocha Pitta's work has been exhibited internationally at venues such as the 30th São Paulo Biennial, MoMA PS1 in New York, and the Hara Museum in Tokyo. His pieces are part of esteemed collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo . Through his art, Rocha Pitta continues to engage audiences in dialogues about the natural world's fragility and the passage of time.
