Glicéria Tupinambá was born in 1982, in the Serra do Padeiro village, located in the Tupinambá Indigenous Land of Olivença, in the south of the state of Bahia. She is an artist and teacher. She made the documentary Voz das Mulheres Indígenas (Voice of Indigenous Women ) (2015) and, since then, has continued to work in the audiovisual field, making videos together with young people from the community. She also held the exhibition Kwá Yepé Turusú Yuriri Assojaba Tupinambá / Esta é a Grande Volta do Manto Tupinambá (2021), in Brasília. In 2023, he was awarded the Pipa Prize.

She was a teacher at the Tupinambá State Indigenous College of Serra do Padeiro and participates intensely in the political and religious life of the Tupinambá, getting involved above all in issues related to education, the productive organization of the village, social services and women’s rights. She was president of the Serra do Padeiro Tupinambá Indian Association and was responsible for approving and managing projects aimed at strengthening the village.
